STONE PROPERTIES

Jaspis is an opaque variety of chalcedony, in shades of yellow, red and brown, this color is due to various iron oxides. It often displays streaks or spots. The word iaspis is Greek, referring to Theophrastus and the Bible. But there is another version that says that its name was taken from the Hebrew word “yaspeh”. Iaspi is found in the highlands of Deccan in India, China, Mongolia, the United States, South Africa and especially in the Ural Mountains. For Jaspi, tradition says that it acts refreshingly in cases of recovery, weakness and lack of energy.
